“The best way to see the REAL Caribbean!”

This is a great way to see the real Caribbean. We had 8 days on board Ngoma, a 40 foot catamaran.

We sailed from Bequia south through the beautiful Grenadines island chain to Grenada. In that time we called at Mustique, Mayreau, Canouan, Union Island, Tobago Keys (where we had a wonderful experience snorkelling with turtles), Carriacou and finally Grenada where we went on to have a further week in an hotel. Every night we moored offshore in a sheltered bay and were taken ashore in the dinghy on request so we could try out different restaurants. Our crew were Robin the skipper and his wife Sandra who did the cooking and looked after the navigation side of things. Robin is a very practised helmsman and although we encountered some fairly strong winds, the boat is very stable with its two hulls, so we never felt sick or nervous. We chose not to handle ropes or sails but the holiday is equally suitable for seasoned sailors who want to be fully involved and experience the thrill of exploring the Caribbean in your own yacht without the navigational risks posed by bareboat charters. Being on your own yacht allowed us to stop off on deserted beaches and snorkel in the fabulous warm pale turquoise Caribbean sea. A highlight was being offered lobsters by young men in local boats who took them to shore to cook them and returned them in time for dinner aboard. Scrumptious! The boat is very spacious and with just the two of us we had the whole of the port (left-hand) side of the boat to ourselves with two cabins and our own spacious bathroom with shower. Robin and Sandra were delightful hosts who work very hard to please their guests. We can’t recommend this holiday highly enough.
